Saturday 21st April: The Highland Biodiversity Conference will be held at the UHI Scottish School of Forestry, Balloch, Inverness.
The programme has a woodland theme, in part looking at isolated trees and woodland fragments and the potential for expansion.
We'll have presentations from the Woodland Trust about their croft woodland work, and Trees for Life on their Caledonian Pine remnant project and red squirrel translocation work. We'll also be hearing from a couple of UHI researchers, and we're hoping to hear about montane woodland, and from Cairngorms National Park about woodland network expansion. And we'll be introducing the Lonesome Pine - an idea based on successful Caithness Biodiversity Group work. So it should be a very interesting day!
